Story of Federal Police in Manaus

If you once want to come here for longer than a month you have to register yourself by Policia Federal in any city . we were trying to do this before the 30th day of our residence here. We managed to go there with our Portuguese teacher who could maybe translate for us what the police wants from us. After a terrible ride on the streets of Manaus which are almost so wild and rough like the jungle environment around the city , we arrived at territory of policia federal which is considered as the most respectful police in Brazil there are also some other kinds of police here like policia military and etc.

After a while of waiting ,the guy sitting at the desk gave us a list of documents we needed to provide before getting registered so we left the DPF without any success. At that time I just remembered the offices of police in Iran and I knew that we will spend a lot of time for a registration which is probably not so important. So first of all we need some 3x4 photos , I tell you this because it was a story to get these photos. After some days we managed to go to a shopping center where we could make some photos . we entered the shop and asked for some photos the girl behind the desk was very kind . she asked me to go behind the desk and as usual I though that there is a room with some cameras and stuff to shoot photos . but she asked me to sit on a chair almost in the corner of the shop and she pulled a small digital camera out of her pocket and just made a photo just a photo like a one maybe you shoot on a party. And everybody were laughing but it was actually a normal process of shooting photos.

And the story of police went on and we got all the documents and at the last day we were supposed to make copies of our passports not only a copy but a verified copy . we went to a shop called Cartório and there I just recalled the process of stamping copies in Iran. So this country is actually similar to Iran. But the city is worse than any big city in Iran.

On our next visit to Policia federal we spent about 2 hours of just sitting on a chair in that office at least it had air conditioners so we were safe of the heat out side of 40 degrees. After getting our fingerprints and so many signatures they let us go with a piece of paper which should be a residence document or something like that.
